BarCamp Portland ‘07
May 14th, 2007
I spent Friday night and all day Saturday at Portland’s very first BarCamp. It was a great success! I had a really great time. I would like to thank Dawn, Raven, and everyone that helped to make this a tremendously successful event.
It was my first barcamp and wasn’t sure what to expect. I was amazed at how smoothly the ad-hoc session planning, spontaneous hall sessions, and the overall gathering went. I met and had really enjoyable conversations with some very interesting people. I attended sessions about user experience, GTD, game development, hacks, openID, and various other. In the evenings we played werewolf. Which was a blast, because we got to introduce the game to people that had never played before. We should have some new players this Wednesday at the next Portland Werewolf gathering.
Overall it was a wonderful experience and a great testimony for how amazing the tech community is here in Portland.
