Paint Ball

Last night a bunch of us got together after work to play some paintball. All day long my level of anticipation grew at a pretty steady pace. All I can think about was how much it is supposed to hurt when you get hit. I think of myself as having a pretty high tolerance for pain, but it still concerned me. We were all there pretty much on time. However the facility where we played was still not ready for about another hour. The entire time I just kept thinking “Come on! I just want to get in there and play.” I really wanted to get hit. I just wanted to get it over with. I just wanted to feel the pain and know what to expect. After about an hour of waiting around, checking out the arena, etc. we finally got our “Safety Lecture”, and we were off.

The first game that we played was elimination with reincarnation. We were broken up into two teams and the purpose of the game was to eliminate the other team. For the first two minutes of the game if we were shot we could “reincarnate” by running to a designated barrier. I only got hit once in the leg. It did not hurt as much as I was expecting. The second game I got hit in the neck and that one hurt quite a lot more. However, I am sure not as much as Mike’s welts. After that I was ready to go.

My favorite game was dodge ball. The field was divided in two and each team had to stay on their side of the field. No one was allowed to cross over unless you where hit. If you got hit you crossed the field and joined the other team. You keep bouncing back and forth until there is only one person left on one of the sides and they either give up or get tagged out. It was a lot of fun. However for some reason we used a hell of a lot more paint in this game than any other.

I think that paintball is a hobby that I would really enjoy. However it can get really expensive and I feel that I might get bored of it after a while. With that being said, I can’t wait to go out again and play. It was a really a lot of fun.
